Warping
The first step in our production process is warping. The warp consists of the longitudinal threads that form the framework of the fabric. We create warps consisting of up to 4000 threads, each between 300 – 2000 meters long. During warping, a specific number of threads are wound up into strips on the warping drum, then "beamed" onto "a large thread spool". This spool is then placed at the back of the loom and forms the framework of the fabric. Each product has its own specific warp where the number of threads, density, and width vary. We have chosen to make all our warps in unbleached linen yarn. The reason is that we want to minimize the environmental impact in our products.
