Washing & Mangling
Linen is made from the stem of a flower (the flax plant), and just like wood, it contains a natural adhesive that makes it stiff initially. To remove this adhesive and make the linen soft and absorbent, we wash most products before sale. We wash them in water at 60 degrees Celsius without detergent in our own laundry facilities and then mangle them with our steam-powered double-roller mangle.
