The Factory

We specialize in pure linen and weave in 100% linen. Our factory is open to you as a visitor, and you can follow the linen from yarn to finished fabric through signs in the factory. During the month of July, we offer guided tours every day that you are welcome to join, see Guided tours for more info. In our factory, the process begins with warping. Up to 4000 linen threads are joined together to form a warp, which then forms the basis of the fabric. The warps are between 300 meters and 2 kilometers long. The next step is to thread the warp into the loom and thread all the warp threads through heddles and reed. Once the loom is threaded, it's time to weave. Our machine park ranges from 1923 to the present day, making our factory a living example of the development of the textile industry. From pattern cards in the form of wooden pegs to punch cards in plastic strips to today's computers.
