No material filters daylight quite like linen. The fabric allows soft, pleasant natural light to enter while reducing visibility from outside, dampening room acoustics, and providing protection against UV rays. When sewing from cut fabric, both the lengthwise edges and the cut ends should be hemmed.
Hand washing is recommended. Shrinkage approximately 2–4%.
